Shawnta Pride hails from West Helena, Arkansas. She relocated to Florida with her family during her sophomore year in high school. Shawnta was awarded a vocal scholarship to Bethune Cookman University. She is a proud alumna of both Bethune Cookman holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Shawnta is the best mom to her two daughters, who are both college students.

She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is an active member of the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter. With a heart for educating the community it is no surprise that Shawnta served as an educator in the Duval County Public Schools for more than 12 years in several positions ranging from Reading/Language Arts teacher, Reading Coach, and finally Assistant Principal. With several leadership roles underneath her belt, she began to expand her horizons, serving as an Adjunct Professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) and Firm Administrator for The Daniels Law Firm.
